The GhIPSS dividend for the 2025 financial year has reached GH¢14.58 million, with the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited formally presenting the amount to its sole shareholder, the Bank of Ghana, following the approval of its annual financial results.

The dividend was presented on Wednesday, July 1, at a ceremony held at The Bank Square after the successful conclusion of the company's Annual General Meeting, underscoring another profitable year for Ghana's national electronic payment infrastructure provider.

Receiving the cheque, Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama described the event as more than a financial transaction, calling it "an important governance milestone" that reinforces accountability and sound corporate governance.

"This ceremony marks an important governance milestone, providing the opportunity for GhIPSS to formally present its approved dividend to its sole shareholder." - Dr. Asiama

Dr. Asiama commended the Board, Management and staff of GhIPSS for sustaining operational excellence while strengthening the country's digital financial ecosystem.

"I commend the Board, Management and Staff of GhIPSS for this achievement and for their continued commitment to operational excellence, innovation and sound corporate governance." - Dr. Asiama

He noted that the value created by GhIPSS extends well beyond financial returns, pointing to the institution's growing contribution to secure and interoperable payment systems that continue to support Ghana's expanding digital economy.

"As shareholder, we appreciate not only the financial return presented today but also the value GhIPSS continues to create through the development of secure, resilient and interoperable payment infrastructure that supports Ghana's financial sector and the broader economy." - Dr. Asiama

Focus on long-term growth

The Governor encouraged the company to build on its recent performance by pursuing strategic initiatives that will strengthen its position in the years ahead.

The dividend follows the approval of GhIPSS' 2025 financial statements at its Annual General Meeting and reflects the company's strong financial performance during the period.

GhIPSS plays a central role in Ghana's financial services landscape by providing the infrastructure that enables secure electronic payments and interoperability among banks and other financial institutions.

Its platforms continue to support digital transactions across the country, reinforcing efforts to expand financial inclusion and modernise payment systems.

The latest dividend presentation also highlights the institution's ability to generate value for its shareholder while continuing to invest in technology and innovation that underpin Ghana's increasingly cash-lite economy. With digital payments gaining momentum, GhIPSS remains a key driver of the country's financial sector transformation.
