Joyce Bawah Mogtari Urges Unity as NDC Votes

Presidential Adviser and Special Aide Joyce Bawah Mogtari has urged NDC aspirants and delegates to protect party unity as constituency elections begin, calling on eventual winners to embrace their opponents and lead with humility.

In a goodwill message to party members, Mogtari appealed for a peaceful, transparent and credible process, saying the responsibility to serve the party and the Ghanaian people must endure beyond the contests.

Her message addressed both the choices facing delegates and the conduct expected of aspirants once results are declared.

Winners urged to bring everyone on board

Mogtari encouraged successful candidates to make reconciliation a priority, extending fellowship to those who lose and ensuring they remain involved in party activities.

“To those who emerge victorious, I urge you to lead with humility, extend a hand of fellowship to those who may not have prevailed, and work towards bringing everyone on board.” - Joyce Bawah

She also reassured unsuccessful aspirants that an electoral defeat would not diminish their contributions or their standing within the NDC.

Their sacrifices, she said, remained appreciated, and their place in the party family was secure.

Delegates asked to put the party first

Mogtari thanked aspirants for offering themselves for leadership and urged delegates to approach their decisions with wisdom and fairness.

“To our cherished delegates, I trust that you will exercise your responsibility with wisdom, fairness, and the collective interest of our great party at heart,” she stated.

She paid tribute to members who sustain the NDC through their time, energy and resources, including those whose work attracts little public recognition. The party’s strength, she said, has always rested in its people.

Support for Mahama’s government

Looking beyond the internal contests, Mogtari said members should remain focused on supporting President John Dramani Mahama and his government to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

She urged members to preserve their relationships despite changes in leadership.

“The elections will come and go, positions will change hands, but the bonds of comradeship and our collective responsibility to the party and the people must endure.” - Joyce Bawah

Mogtari ended by wishing the NDC peaceful and successful constituency elections and remembering party members who had died.
