Ghana is Safe - Muntaka Assures Ghanaians

Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak used his appearance on Joy FM's Super Morning Show to reassure the public that Ghana's security situation remains under control, promising government won't let up on efforts to keep it that way.

The Minister touched on several fronts during the interview, from border security and the Gun Amnesty Programme to newer tools like TRAFFITECH-GH and the electronic visa platform.

He also addressed recruitment into the security services and the growing headache of sirens being used without authorisation on Ghana's roads.

Drug Trafficking Remains a Priority

On narcotics, Muntaka didn't downplay the complexity of the fight. He said government takes drug-related issues seriously and continues working with foreign security agencies, noting that trafficking networks rarely respect borders and demand coordinated international response.

Muntaka closed by appealing directly to citizens, urging them to share credible information on suspicious activity and cooperate with officers rather than resist them.

For a ministry juggling this many moving parts, he suggested, public trust remains one of its most valuable tools.
