The NDC's Functional Executive Committee has approved filing fees for its upcoming national executive elections, with the National Chairman slot costing aspirants GH¢100,000.
The pricing isn't flat. General Secretary and National Vice Chairman aspirants will each pay GH¢80,000, while those gunning for National Organiser face a GH¢70,000 fee.
Deputy General Secretary candidates pay GH¢60,000, and the National Communication Officer slot comes in at GH¢50,000.
Further down the scale, National Youth Organiser and National Zongo Caucus Coordinator aspirants will pay GH¢40,000 each.
The deputy organiser roles, covering Deputy National Organiser, Deputy Communication Officer and Deputy Youth Organiser, all carry a GH¢30,000 fee, matching what's required for National Women's Organiser and Deputy National Women's Organiser positions.
National Executive Committee membership sits at the bottom of the list, going for GH¢10,000.
On top of whatever fee applies, every aspirant must first pay GH¢2,000 just to pick up a nomination form.
Concessions for Women and PWDs
The party has built in some relief for certain candidates. Female aspirants and persons with disabilities will pay half the standard filing fee across board, though that discount doesn't extend to the National Women's Organiser or Deputy National Women's Organiser positions, where the full fee stands regardless.
All transactions will run through the party's online platform, forms.ghanandc.com, cutting out the usual paperwork that tends to slow these processes down.
The fee structure now forms part of the broader groundwork for the NDC's internal elections, which will determine who runs the party's national administration and organisational machinery going forward.
