Abronye Granted GH¢100,000 Bail with 2 Sureties

The Accra High Court has granted bail to Kwame Baffoe Abronye pending trial, following an application by his legal team during proceedings on Thursday morning.

The General Jurisdiction Division 2 of the court admitted the accused person to bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two justified sureties.

The application was moved by lawyers from Nkrumah & Associates, led by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, with support from Godfred Yeboah Dame.

The prosecution, led by Justice Srem-Sai, did not oppose the bail request.

Court Imposes Bail Conditions

As part of the bail conditions, the court directed Mr Baffoe Abronye to report to the Police Criminal Investigations Department once every two weeks.

The court also ordered him to surrender all travel documents to the court registry and barred him from travelling outside the jurisdiction without prior approval from the Registrar of the Court.

Lawyers for the accused indicated that efforts were already underway to satisfy the bail conditions before noon to secure his release by the close of the day.

The legal team and supporters of Mr Baffoe Abronye also expressed appreciation to Mahamudu Bawumia for what they described as his “unwavering support” and continued concern throughout the accused person’s incarceration.

The case is expected to continue before the High Court in the coming weeks as legal proceedings progress.
