Adwoa Safo Recognises Kwadwo Safo as Kantanka Family Head

Former Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo has publicly recognised her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as leader of the Kantanka Family and Kristo Asafo Church, signalling a reconciliation after months of disagreement over the family’s affairs.

In a statement, the former Gender Minister said the family had reached a point where differences and grievances following the death of their father, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, should be put aside.

“I have chosen the path of conciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family,” she said.

The declaration marks a notable change after a public leadership dispute within the family and Kristo Asafo Mission earlier this year.

In July, the disagreement had reached the courts and generated competing claims about the late founder’s succession arrangements.

Adwoa Safo Pledges Support to Brother

Adwoa Safo said she had “immense love and respect” for her brother and was prepared to work with him in advancing their father’s legacy.

“In the spirit of honouring our father’s wishes, I publicly acknowledge and accept him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church.” - Adwoa Safo

“He has my full support,” she added, saying she was willing to cooperate with him in the interest of both the family and the church.

She stressed that Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s legacy should not become the preserve of any single individual.

“Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children,” she said.

Family Urged to Embrace Reconciliation

Adwoa Safo called on members of the Kristo Asafo Church, the wider Kantanka family and individuals associated with her father’s work to support the renewed push for unity.

She also extended goodwill to Israel Kwadwo Safo and her other siblings as the family begins what she described as a new period of peace and forgiveness.

“May this new chapter bring healing, unity and renewed strength as we come together to honour and advance the legacy of our beloved father,” she said.
