Ghana’s Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, is set to begin a working tour of major power infrastructure projects in Kumasi as part of efforts to strengthen electricity supply and improve energy delivery across the country.
The inspection exercise focuses on critical projects expected to enhance transmission capacity, stabilise power distribution and support growing energy demand in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
According to the Ministry, the tour includes inspections of the transformer upgrade and replacement programme at the Ridge Substation, as well as the ongoing Anwomaso–Boadi–Kaase and Anwomaso–Airport transmission line projects.
The Minister is also expected to visit facilities operated by AKSA and CENIT to assess operational performance and ongoing interventions within the sector.
Officials say the projects form part of broader government efforts to modernise the country’s electricity infrastructure and improve reliability in power supply.
“Government remains committed to investing in reliable, efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure to support national development and improve service delivery for all Ghanaians,” the Ministry said in a statement.
As part of the tour, Dr. Jinapor will hold meetings with general and district managers of the to discuss operational challenges and progress on key interventions in the power sector.
The Minister is also expected to brief the media later in the day on the status of the projects and government’s plans to strengthen electricity delivery nationwide.
The working visit comes amid increasing demand for stable electricity supply to support industrial activity, businesses and households across Ghana.
