President John Dramani Mahama has commenced a two-day working tour of the Central Region as part of his Resetting Ghana initiative aimed at strengthening direct engagement between government and citizens.
The tour will take the President beyond the seat of government in Accra to interact with residents, traditional authorities and local stakeholders while assessing key development projects across the region.
His first stop is Assin Bereku in the Assin North District, where he will address a durbar of chiefs and residents before cutting the sod for a new 24-hour economy market, one of the flagship initiatives of his administration.
Accompanied by key sector ministers and government officials, President Mahama will inspect four ongoing road projects to assess progress and reaffirm the government's commitment to infrastructure development.
In the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, he is expected to inaugurate a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound and distribute Free Primary Health Care kits as part of efforts to improve access to healthcare.
The President will also visit the Cape Coast Castle to promote heritage tourism and support initiatives aimed at attracting more domestic and international visitors to the Central Region.
Town Hall to Promote Accountability
The tour will conclude with a Citizens Engagement town hall meeting at Apam Junction on Saturday, where President Mahama will outline government initiatives designed to promote development, investment and job creation.
The forum is expected to provide residents with an opportunity to engage directly with the President, raise concerns affecting their communities and offer feedback on government policies.
The Presidency says the engagement reflects the administration's commitment to transparency, accountability and citizen participation in national development.
