Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has announced a 28-man squad for Ghana national football team’ preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the upcoming international friendly against Wales in Cardiff.
The squad includes five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders and seven forwards as Ghana intensifies preparations for the global tournament scheduled to take place in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The team opened camp on Monday, May 25, 2026, and held its first training session at Dragon Park in Cardiff ahead of the friendly on June 2.
Among the notable returnees is Baba Abdul Rahman, who rejoins the national team for the first time since September 2023 after impressive performances with Greek club PAOK FC.
The former Chelsea FC left-back has made 35 appearances this season, contributing three goals and three assists.
Ernest Nuamah also returns after nearly a year out due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The Olympique Lyonnais winger has now regained full fitness.
Other players making a comeback include Abdul Mumin of Rayo Vallecano, Augustine Boakye of AS Saint-Étienne, and Alidu Seidu from Stade Rennais FC.
Ajax youngster Paul Reverson has also earned a call-up for further assessment after impressing with the youth side of AFC Ajax.
Ghana will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama in Toronto before facing England and Croatia in Boston and Philadelphia respectively.
