The Ghana Armed Forces has announced that the first batch of Ghana Armed Forces recruits will soon commence training following the completion of the initial selection process.
In a statement, the military confirmed that 2,000 recruits have been selected as part of a broader exercise that will see four batches trained over time.
The selected individuals have been directed to report to designated centres across all 16 regions on March 18, 2026, to receive their appointment letters and training prospectus.

Inclusion and second chances for applicants
The military also encouraged applicants who were previously disqualified due to treatable medical conditions to seek care, assuring them of another opportunity to be reassessed.
“All potential applicants who had curable medical issues… are encouraged to seek medical attention as they would be invited again for a review,” the statement noted.
Notably, the first batch includes individuals affected by the El-Wak Stadium stampede, with 18 injured victims and five individuals sponsored by bereaved families gaining selection.
The Ghana Armed Forces expressed appreciation to regional authorities for supporting the decentralised recruitment process, which brought the exercise closer to applicants across the country.
The military assured remaining candidates that additional selections will be made from a pool of high-performing applicants in subsequent batches.
It also revealed that considerations are ongoing to include individuals from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, who assisted during last year’s helicopter crash rescue operation, in the next phase of recruitment.
