Ghanaian football fans will be able to watch every match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup live after government successfully secured broadcasting rights for the global tournament through a combination of state support and fundraising efforts.

The announcement was made by Kofi Adams, who said the agreement would ensure nationwide access to football’s biggest event across multiple media platforms.

According to the Sports Minister, collaboration between government and corporate institutions played a major role in making the deal possible.

“Through the support of government and fundraising efforts, we have been able to secure broadcast rights to telecast the World Cup matches live on some of the media stations.” - Sports Minister

The fundraising initiative forms part of a broader campaign to mobilise financial support for Ghana’s national football team, the Ghana national football team, ahead of the tournament.

Corporate institutions, including GCB Bank, have contributed to the effort as the Black Stars intensify preparations for the competition.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by United States, Canada and Mexico, will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams.

The broadcasting announcement is expected to generate excitement among football fans across Ghana, with millions set to follow the tournament live as the Black Stars seek to make a strong impact on the world stage.
