Ghana World Cup Fundraising Donors Raise Over $12 Million for Black Stars

Ghana World Cup fundraising donors have contributed more than $12 million and GHC13.9 million to support the national team, the Black Stars, ahead of upcoming international competitions.

The fundraising drive attracted significant backing from corporate institutions, individuals, and entertainment figures, highlighting strong national support for Ghana’s football ambitions.

Corporate Giants Lead Contributions

Leading the list of donors is Engineers & Planners with a contribution of $5 million, followed by Gold Fields Ghana, which pledged $2 million alongside an additional $1 million earmarked for future Black Stars activities.

Other major contributions came from Jewel Energy and Christian Salamony Game Technology, each donating $1 million and $2 million respectively.

Creative Industry and Local Support

Prominent musicians Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy also contributed, donating $100,000 and $81,000 respectively, with Stonebwoy adding $20,000 toward campaign music production.

Several local businesses and individuals contributed in cedis, including KGL Group with GHC10 million and Serene Insurance, which pledged GHC2 million alongside a GHC20 million insurance package.

In total, the fundraising effort generated approximately $12.096 million, in addition to GHC13.95 million and a substantial insurance package for the team.

The strong financial backing underscores widespread confidence in the Black Stars and is expected to boost preparations, logistics, and overall performance as Ghana aims for success on the global stage.
