GoldBod Suspends Dominic Bonsu Ventures' Licence

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the gold trading licence of Dominic Bonsu Ventures with immediate effect after determining that the company breached the terms of its licence and violated the Board's trading directives.

In a compliance notice issued on Friday, July 24, 2026, GoldBod said the action was taken under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140) following findings that the company had failed to comply with regulatory requirements governing Ghana's gold trading sector.

The regulator stated that the suspension takes immediate effect, effectively barring the company from undertaking any activity involving gold.

High Court Issues Bench Warrant

GoldBod further disclosed that it is seeking the proprietor of Dominic Bonsu Ventures as part of ongoing enforcement proceedings.

According to the Board, the High Court in Accra has granted its application for a bench warrant to facilitate the arrest of the proprietor in connection with the enforcement process and related criminal proceedings.

"The GoldBod is working closely with the appropriate law enforcement agencies to execute the warrant," the statement said.

The Board did not disclose the identity of the proprietor or provide additional details about the alleged breaches beyond stating that they contravened licence conditions and GoldBod's trading directives.

Traders Directed to Cease Dealings

Following the suspension, GoldBod directed all licensed gold buyers, aggregators, self-financing aggregators and miners to immediately stop conducting business with Dominic Bonsu Ventures.

The company is prohibited from engaging in the purchase, sale, aggregation, transportation or any other transaction involving gold until further notice.

GoldBod also warned that any individual or entity found facilitating or participating in gold transactions with the suspended company during the period of the suspension would face enforcement and regulatory action under Act 1140.

"GoldBod remains committed to ensuring strict compliance with the laws, licence conditions and trading directives governing Ghana's gold trading sector and will continue to take decisive enforcement action against all persons and entities that undermine the integrity, transparency and orderly operation of the industry." - GoldBod

The regulator said the latest action forms part of its commitment to enforcing compliance across Ghana's gold trading industry.
