The National Petroleum Authority has announced a revised price floor for petroleum products, effective April 16, 2026, under its latest pricing window.
The adjustment reflects marginal reductions in petrol and significant cuts in diesel prices, while LPG has recorded a slight increase.
Diesel recorded the most notable drop, falling to GH¢16.10 per litre from GH¢17.10, marking a GH¢1.00 reduction—the largest decline among petroleum products in recent months.
Petrol prices also edged down slightly to GH¢13.27 per litre, compared to GH¢13.30 set earlier in April, representing a modest 3 pesewa decrease.
In contrast, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices have been adjusted upward to GH¢10.79 per kilogram, up from GH¢10.71 in the previous pricing window.
The mixed adjustments reflect ongoing shifts in global petroleum markets and domestic pricing dynamics.
The Authority emphasised that all oil marketing companies must adhere strictly to the new pricing benchmarks.
“As per the Petroleum Products Pricing Guidelines (PPPG), all Oil Marketing Companies and LPG Marketing Companies are entreated to comply with the above price floors.” - National Petroleum Authority
The revised price floor is expected to guide market pricing while ensuring stability across the downstream petroleum sector.
