Head coach Otto Addo has unveiled the latest Black Stars squad for Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany, handing first-time call-ups to four players.

The new faces include Derrick Luckassen, Patrick Pfeiffer, Marvin Senaya, and Daniel Agyei, all of whom have been rewarded for their performances at club level.

Luckassen, who plays for Pafos FC in Cyprus, arrives with extensive European experience, having featured for clubs such as PSV and Anderlecht. Senaya, meanwhile, is currently playing in France’s top flight with AJ Auxerre after progressing through the ranks in European football.

The squad also sees the return of several key players, including Iñaki Williams, Thomas Partey, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Alexander Djiku, adding depth and experience ahead of the crucial preparatory matches.

The team features a blend of youth and experience across all departments, with players drawn from leagues across Europe, reflecting the growing international presence of Ghanaian talent.

Preparations for World Cup intensify

The two fixtures form part of Ghana’s preparations for upcoming global competitions, with the technical team using the matches to assess squad depth and tactical options.

Ghana will first take on Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to face Germany on March 30, 2026.

The friendlies are expected to provide a strong test for the Black Stars as they build momentum and cohesion ahead of future competitive assignments, with Coach Addo keen to evaluate both new entrants and returning stars in high-level international action.
