The Ghana Agrotech Fair 2026 will open in Accra from March 17 to March 19 at Independence Square, marking the country’s first large-scale exhibition dedicated to agricultural technology and agro-processing innovation.

The three-day event is being organised by the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry in partnership with the Ghana Export-Import Bank (Ghana EXIM Bank) as part of efforts to accelerate industrialisation and strengthen Ghana’s export-driven agricultural sector.

Held under the theme “Transforming Agribusiness through Local Innovation and Technology,” the fair will showcase locally developed agricultural machinery, agro-processing equipment and emerging technologies designed to enhance productivity and promote value addition in agriculture.

President John Dramani Mahama is expected to officially open the fair alongside the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana EXIM Bank, Sylvester Adinam Mensah.

Their participation is expected to highlight the government’s commitment to building a modern and competitive agricultural economy driven by technology, innovation and export development.

As part of its mandate to support industrialisation, Ghana EXIM Bank is leading the initiative in collaboration with several public and private sector stakeholders to promote locally manufactured agricultural solutions.

Platform for innovation and industry collaboration

The Chief Executive of Ghana EXIM Bank described the event as a key platform to highlight technological innovation in agriculture.

In a social media post, he noted that “the maiden Ghana Agricultural and Agro-Processing Industrial Technology Fair (Ghana Agrotech Fair 2026) is a flagship platform designed to spotlight Ghana’s locally manufactured agricultural machinery, implements, agro-processing equipment, and cutting-edge technologies.”

According to him, the fair will bring together a wide range of participants across the agricultural value chain.

“The Fair brings together key actors across the entire agricultural value chain — including manufacturers, technology developers, farmers, fishers, processors, exporters, investors, and policymakers — to connect, exchange ideas, and unlock practical solutions." - Chief Executive of Ghana EXIM Bank

Exhibitions, training and investment opportunities

Ghana Agrotech Fair 2026 will feature exhibitions, masterclasses, policy dialogues, business matchmaking sessions and technical demonstrations.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore modern farming equipment, digital agriculture tools, packaging technologies and sustainable production methods aimed at improving efficiency across the sector.

Organisers say the event is designed to catalyse investment and partnerships that will strengthen Ghana’s agro-industrial value chains.

Mr. Mensah emphasised that the initiative is intended to stimulate innovation and economic growth. “Agrotech Fair 2026 is purpose-built to catalyse investment, drive innovation, and accelerate agro-industrial transformation for sustainable growth and jobs,” he said.

The fair also forms part of activities commemorating the tenth anniversary of Ghana EXIM Bank, the government’s principal export finance institution.

Organisers say the exhibition is open to the public, particularly farmers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, technical institutions, universities, investors, farmer-based organisations and industry stakeholders interested in advancing Ghana’s agricultural transformation.
