GNPC Showcases Ghana’s Energy Investment Potential at OTC 2026

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has intensified efforts to position Ghana as a leading destination for energy investment after participating in the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, one of the world’s largest gatherings for the global energy industry.

Speaking at the Africa Energy Forum held on the sidelines of OTC 2026, GNPC’s Deputy Chief Executive for Finance, Commercial and Administration, Hamis Ussif, underscored Ghana’s strong investment prospects and the country’s readiness to attract sustainable energy financing.

According to Mr. Ussif, GNPC continues to balance its developmental mandate as a national oil company with the commercial flexibility required to operate competitively within the global upstream petroleum industry.

He said the corporation’s dual role has positioned it as a central driver of Ghana’s petroleum sector and broader energy development agenda.

Strategic Partnerships and Technology Focus

As part of the conference activities, the GNPC delegation participated in a business breakfast hosted by the Global Energy Network on the theme “US Energy Outlook,” where discussions focused on emerging trends shaping the future of global energy markets.

The Ghanaian delegation also included the country’s Ambassador to the United States, members of Parliament’s Select Committee on Energy, and representatives from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Tema Oil Refinery and National Petroleum Authority.

The coordinated participation highlighted Ghana’s broader strategy to sustain investor confidence and strengthen long-term growth within the energy sector.

Beyond the forum discussions, GNPC engaged in several strategic and technical meetings in Houston aimed at deepening operational efficiency and technology adoption.

GNPC Explores Industry Innovation

At Halliburton’s Technology Show, the delegation examined how automation and integrated technologies are transforming project delivery across the energy value chain.

The team also held discussions with Amni International Petroleum Development Company Limited on collaboration opportunities, operational alignment and project execution, followed by a tour of the company’s Houston facility.

GNPC said the engagements form part of its broader strategy to strengthen technical capacity, align with evolving global industry standards and enhance operational performance.

The corporation noted that its participation at OTC 2026 goes beyond networking and reflects Ghana’s ambition to remain actively involved in shaping the future of the global energy industry.

GNPC said the conference provided an important platform to promote knowledge exchange, attract strategic partnerships and reinforce Ghana’s role within international energy discussions.

The Offshore Technology Conference, held annually in Houston, brings together global energy executives, engineers, policymakers and innovators to explore advancements and partnerships shaping the future of the energy sector.
