The Narcotics Control Commission has arrested three people suspected of facilitating the activities of the Bolle Jos network in Ghana.
NACOC said the suspects allegedly represented Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos,” and supported his operations in the country.
Their identities have not been disclosed. The suspects remain in custody and are assisting investigators to determine their alleged roles in narcotics trafficking.
No charges or findings of guilt have been announced.
French cocaine seizure triggers arrests
The arrests followed the reported interception of a cocaine shipment by French customs authorities. NACOC said investigators believe the consignment may be connected to a broader international trafficking network.
The Commission did not disclose the date of the arrests or provide details about the evidence allegedly linking the three suspects to Leijdekkers.
“The arrests reaffirm NACOC’s resolve that Ghana will not be a safe haven, transit point or operational base for international drug-trafficking organisations,” it said.
The statement was signed by PNCO Francis Opoku Amoah, acting Director of Public Affairs and International Relations.
NACOC said it would work with Ghanaian and foreign law-enforcement agencies to target the people, money and infrastructure sustaining the alleged network.
It also pledged to protect the legal rights of all suspects while investigations continue.
