NPA Announces New Ex-Pump Price Floors for Petrol, Diesel and LPG

The National Petroleum Authority has released ex-pump price floors for petrol, diesel, LPG and other fuel products for April 1–15, 2026 in Ghana.

A notice issued by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) on March 30, 2026, announced the approved ex-pump price floors for the period April 1 to April 15, 2026, covering petrol, diesel, LPG, marine gas oil and kerosene.

According to the NPA’s published schedule, petrol has been pegged at GH¢13.30 per litre, while diesel is set at GH¢17.10 per litre. LPG will sell at a floor price of GH¢10.71, with MGO Local at GH¢16.21 and kerosene at GH¢17.11.

The Authority stated that the rates are in line with the Petroleum Products Pricing Guidelines (PPPG) and urged all Oil Marketing Companies and LPG Marketing Companies to comply.

In the notice, the NPA said all industry players are “entreated to comply with the above price floors for the window under consideration.”

OMCs to Determine Final Retail Prices

The Authority clarified that the announced figures do not represent final pump prices consumers may see at filling stations.

It explained that the approved floors “exclude the premiums charged by International Oil Trading Companies (IOTCs)” as well as operating margins and dealer mark-ups.

This means individual companies may adjust their final retail prices depending on additional costs permitted under the pricing regime.

The latest announcement is expected to shape fuel pricing decisions in the first half of April, with motorists, households and businesses closely monitoring any changes at the pump.

The NPA’s move provides a pricing baseline for the market while leaving room for licensed operators to determine final selling prices within the regulatory framework.
