The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it has successfully conducted constituency executive elections in 245 of its 276 constituencies, describing the exercise as largely peaceful despite a handful of unresolved disputes.

According to the party, the completed elections represent an 88.7 percent success rate, with the remaining constituencies expected to be addressed after outstanding issues are resolved.

Disputes Delay Remaining Polls

In a press statement signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party disclosed that elections in 23 constituencies were put on hold because of various disputes.

An additional four constituencies, Ningo Prampram, Atwima Mponua, Obuasi West and Trobu, were unable to conduct their elections due to what the party described as last-minute challenges.

The statement also announced that the National Steering Committee will review activities in Afigya Sekyere East, Adansi Asokwa, Bantama and Asante Akyem Central before determining the next course of action.

Party Pledges Completion of Process

The National Secretariat said efforts are underway to resolve all pending issues and ensure the internal electoral process is completed successfully.

"The National Secretariat remains committed to resolving all outstanding issues and ensuring the successful completion of the electoral process," the statement said.

The party also thanked its members for their conduct throughout the exercise, expressing appreciation to "all Patriots for their commitment, discipline, and support, which contributed to the successful conduct of these elections."

The constituency executive elections form part of the NPP's broader internal reorganisation as the party prepares its structures ahead of future political activities.
