Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has delivered a message of encouragement and national support to the Black Stars as Ghana prepares to begin its FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama.
Leading a high-level Ghanaian delegation, the Vice President met with the players and technical team as they wrapped up preparations for the tournament, conveying the goodwill of President John Dramani Mahama, the Government, and the people of Ghana.
The visit underscored the nation’s confidence in the team ahead of its opening fixture on football’s biggest stage.
The delegation included representatives of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, led by Daasebre Otuo Siriboe II, officials from Ghana’s High Commission headed by H.E. Prof. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, and executives of the Ghana Football Association led by Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku.
The presence of traditional leaders, government officials and football administrators highlighted the broad national support behind the Black Stars as they seek to make a strong impression at the global tournament.
Message of Confidence and Determination
During the meeting, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang reaffirmed the belief Ghanaians have in the abilities of the national team and urged the players to compete with discipline, commitment and excellence.
She encouraged the squad to carry the hopes of the nation with pride and represent Ghana honourably throughout the competition.
On behalf of President Mahama and the Ghanaian people, the Vice President extended best wishes to the players, coaches and technical staff, expressing confidence in their ability to make the country proud.
The Black Stars will now turn their focus to their opening World Cup encounter against Panama, with millions of Ghanaians expected to rally behind the team as it begins its quest for success on the international stage.
