Google has unveiled the Google Pixel 11 lineup, placing artificial intelligence, upgraded cameras and longer battery life at the centre of its latest challenge to Apple’s iPhone.
The range includes the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. United States customers can order immediately, with retail availability beginning August 20.
AI Takes a Bigger Role
Powered by Google’s Tensor G6 processor and Gemini Intelligence, the phones are designed to complete everyday tasks with fewer taps. New tools can extract photographs from videos, improve speech transcription, stabilise recordings and provide teleprompter support.
The camera bar is slimmer, while the Pro models receive stronger zoom capabilities. Google says the devices also introduce Magic Capture, which uses artificial intelligence to analyse images and help users secure better photographs and videos.
“Google continues to tout new software features, primarily around AI, as the reason to upgrade,” Forrester senior analyst Andrew Cornwall said.
More Storage, but No Cheaper Model
Google has doubled the minimum storage across the main Pixel 11 range to 256 gigabytes. The phones promise more than 30 hours of battery life and support faster wired and wireless charging.
The upgrade comes with a higher bill. The Pixel 11 starts at US$899, while the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL begin at US$1,099 and US$1,299. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold starts at US$1,899.
Each model is roughly US$100 more expensive than its predecessor. Google has also removed the 128 gigabyte option that previously gave buyers a cheaper route into its flagship range.
Pixel remains a smaller smartphone brand than Apple’s iPhone, but it has become Google’s main showcase for Gemini. The bet is clear: smarter software can persuade customers to accept the price increase.
