The Ghana Gold Board generated GoldBod foreign exchange inflows of US$1.011 billion from its artisanal and small scale mining gold trade operations in October 2026.
GoldBod said the entire amount was sold to authorised commercial banks through its GoFX platform to support stability in Ghana’s foreign exchange market.
The Board said the transactions were undertaken in line with its statutory mandate under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025.
US$1.2bn Projected for November
GoldBod expects its ASM gold trading operations to generate about US$1.2 billion in foreign exchange during November.
Of that amount, US$800 million is expected to be made available to commercial banks to support the foreign exchange market.
“FX sales will be conducted on the GoldBod GoFX platform in line with the approved FX Sales and Intermediation Framework to ensure transparency, fairness and regulatory compliance,” the Board said.
The remaining foreign exchange is expected to support the Bank of Ghana’s reserve accumulation efforts under the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Policy.
GoldBod said it remained committed to generating foreign exchange for the country while supporting the central bank’s efforts to strengthen Ghana’s international reserves.
